Megs McFire
The Gunner
Flavor: Chili Barrage — Chili Cheese Popcorn
Tagline: Cheddar. Chili. Flavor Incoming.
Secondary Role: Field Cook / Demolitions & Improvisation
Personality: Fearless • Mischievous • Intensely Loyal • Technically Brilliant • Occasionally Reckless
Long before anyone called her Megs McFire, Megs had a fascination with two things:
Making things work—and making things hotter.
She grew up around workshops, garages and kitchens, equally comfortable rebuilding a carburetor or standing over a battered skillet experimenting with whatever spices she could find.

Megs wasn’t formally trained as a chef.
She learned by burning things, breaking things and figuring out why.
That same curiosity eventually led her toward military ordnance and explosives, where her unusual combination of mechanical instinct, steady nerves and complete lack of fear made her extremely good at handling things most people preferred to observe from a considerable distance.
Megs became particularly skilled at improvisation.
Give her the correct equipment and she’d get the job done.
Give her the wrong equipment and she’d probably get it done faster.
Her reputation eventually earned her the nickname McFire after a field incident involving a disabled vehicle, an improvised ignition system and an explosion considerably larger than the one she had predicted.
When questioned afterward, Megs reportedly shrugged and said:
“Worked, didn’t it?”
The name stuck.
MEETING THE FLAVOR CREW
The Flavor Crew first encountered Megs during a mission involving a shipment of equipment that had disappeared somewhere along one of The Dark Kernal’s supply routes.
The Crew expected to find stolen equipment.
Instead, they found Megs.
She had independently tracked the same shipment and was already inside the enemy facility when the Flavor Crew arrived.
Unfortunately, Megs’ definition of “covert operation” differed considerably from theirs.
Missy Mayhem was attempting to quietly infiltrate the compound when an enormous explosion erupted on the opposite side of the facility.
Over the radio came Penny Popper’s confused voice:
“That wasn’t us.”

Then another explosion. And another. Someone was systematically destroying the compound from the inside.
That someone was Megs.
When the Crew finally reached the central warehouse, they discovered her calmly sitting on a crate, eating something she’d cooked over a makeshift burner while several carefully placed charges counted down around her.
She looked at the Crew.
Looked at the timer.
Then offered them some food.
“You guys hungry? We’ve got about three minutes.”
Missy immediately realized two things. Megs was completely insane. And they absolutely needed her.
JOINING THE SQUAD
Megs wasn’t recruited through any formal process.
She simply started showing up.
At first, Missy considered her an occasional specialist—someone they could call whenever a mission required explosives, weapons systems or unconventional engineering.

Then Megs began modifying equipment around the hangar.
She improved Betty’s tool systems.
She helped Penny develop specialized communication devices.
She built compact field stoves.
She redesigned storage containers.
And somewhere along the way, she began experimenting with the Crew’s popcorn.
Megs had found something she enjoyed almost as much as explosives: building flavor.
She approached seasoning exactly the way she approached ordnance.
Everything had a purpose.
Heat. Salt. Fat. Smoke. Acid. Impact.
Balance the components correctly and you got something powerful.
Get the proportions wrong and you destroyed the entire batch.
To Megs, the difference between cooking and explosives engineering was mostly paperwork.
Eventually Missy stopped referring to Megs as a contractor.
There was simply a locker in the hangar with McFIRE painted across it.
She was Flavor Crew.
THE FIELD COOK
Megs unexpectedly became one of the Crew’s strongest cooks.
Not because she’s elegant.
Because she understands intensity.
Her cooking is bold, smoky, messy and unapologetic.
Cast iron.
Open flames.
Heavy seasoning.
Charred peppers.
Melted cheese.
Smoke.
Chili.
Megs doesn’t make delicate food.
She makes food that announces its arrival.
Around the hangar, she frequently handles late-night meals after missions, especially when the Crew wants something spicy.
Her philosophy is simple:
“If nobody reaches for a drink, you didn’t finish the job.”
SIGNATURE FLAVOR
CHILI BARRAGE
Cheddar. Chili. Flavor Incoming.
Chili Barrage represents Megs perfectly.
The first hit is familiar—rich, savory cheddar coating freshly popped mushroom popcorn.
Then the second wave arrives.
Chili.
Warm spices build underneath the cheese, creating a slow, lingering heat rather than simply overwhelming the palate.

The goal isn’t maximum spice. It’s maximum impact.
The cheddar provides the heavy savory foundation while the chili adds warmth, depth and attitude.
Just when you think you’ve figured it out, another handful brings the heat back.
That’s the barrage.
PERSONALITY WITHIN THE CREW
Megs is the Crew’s wild card, but she’s not careless.
There’s a significant difference.
She understands exactly what she’s doing.
Most of the time.
She jokes constantly during dangerous situations and becomes suspiciously calm when everyone else starts panicking.
Her confidence sometimes makes her appear reckless, but beneath it is someone fiercely protective of the Crew.
Megs can tease another Flavor Crew member mercilessly.
Someone outside the Crew tries the same thing?
Different story.
The Flavor Crew became the closest thing Megs has ever had to a family.
She would never admit how important that is to her.
Everyone already knows.
